Project Life catch up

I have some inserts as well, stuff from school, Megan’s basketball certificate, Maura’s MAP testing results, papers from visiting the Science Center in “Hamchester” as Emmett called it. I vow to never get that far behind again, it was a tough catch up. Thank goodness I took tons of notes over the past few weeks, or I never would have remembered all the little details.

Some more pages to share

still loving the Daydream Believer kit!! Although I know March is going to best this one, Crate Paper Storyteller was in my top 2 new releases, can’t wait to get my hands on it!!!

Project Life weeks 2 & 3

I have to admit that I lost all of the PL mojo I had :( It just wasn’t a fun project, I know, I know only 3 weeks in. I guess I should give it a bit more time. It was hard, 1 page wasn’t enough room, 2 pages too much, I typically don’t scrap 12×12 so I wasn’t feeling it. But then I found something that I am sooo excited about!! I found these page protectors at Staples! Yeah yeah, Martha Stewart, say what you will but she does put out some fine crafts supplies. I love the different shaped pockets, the smaller size. I am in heaven! My plan now is to use these as well as the 12×12 PL page protectors. I like the mix of both, for me PL doesn’t have any rules, just go with the flow. So how is your PL going???

Project Life Week #1

One week down, 51 more to go! I really had fun w/ this one, I didn’t stress over it like I did the title page and it all came together. I am just going to do PL easy peasy, no stress, no rules. Some weeks I might have 2 pages, some weeks just 1.

I just love that picture up in the left hand corner. It is from New Year’s Eve, so technically not from Jan.1-6, but I wanted to include it. We lit some fireworks off in the front yard on NYE and I got a great pic of the oldest kids faces. I was holding Adeline, so therefore not in the picture.  We also went ice skating on Saturday. Pat cleared out a spot up in the woods that had a pond that would freeze over. The kids had a great time. Maura picked it up right away. Megan took a few minutes to get the hang of it. Emmett had more fun fooling around trying to fall. Darby was a bit unsure, but she kept telling me how much fun it was! Adeline was left out again, didn’t really think a 1-year-old wanted to go in the cold anyway ;) Maybe she will get ‘em next year. And yes, Darby is wearing a softball helmet. Hey, when you have 5 kids, you gotta use what you got, at least she has a helmet on:) haha!

Ummmm, do you see a pattern here??

I guess my mind has been going in circles lately!!

Actually, I think when inspiration is a bit lacking circles are an easy go-to design element. All 3 of these pages were made w/ the Studio Calico December kit, Brooklyn Flea + add- ons. It is hands down, no contest, my favorite kit ever! I can’t believe that it is still available. This is also the first week of Project Life, I have been snapping away and documenting our days. I think I am going to run my weeks from Saturday-Friday. I like the idea of having the weekends to work on it. Here is my title page, it didn’t really come out the way I wanted, not super happy w/ it. I think it is just so out of my element, the little pockets, it is fairly flat, not much dimension to it, I just have to get used to the concept. But I really love the idea of having this type of scrapbook to look back on.

I hope you all have a great day!!

Project Life

I am currently thinking about how I am going to tackle Project Life this upcoming year.   Here is my checklist so far-

I ordered these

I am also going to use some 8.5 x 11 page protectors, because I know the girls will have lots of school papers to save. I got a Selphy printer a few months ago and let me tell you I don’t think I could accomplish PL without it!  I have also pre-stamped some of the journaling cards to have them ready to use. So far I have used lots of Studio Calico kit stamps. I have also been using these Jenni Bowlin stamps a ton! I think they are perfect for PL.
and these are really fun stamps as well, from My Mind’s Eye
I also stocked up at Elle’s Studio when they had their Black Friday sale. I plan on using my Silhouette a lot for this project, they have some really cute designs that are perfect for PL. I created a new folder and will keep all the things I might use there.
I have also started a PL pin board on Pinterest.  I pinned these cards from A Vegas Girl at Heart blog , I love them, just my style!

I  also have a box on a shelf that the kids (and hopefully the hubby) can put any memorabilia that they think could be included in the album. Granted this is my first year doing this, so maybe I am planning this all wrong :) But I need to go into this with a plan and a little bit of organization. I think this is going to be a really fun project to do and I think the kids will love having this snapshot of their lives. And last but not least here is my take on the Sunday Sketch over at Studio Calico

I would love for you to share with me your plans for PL. Have a great day!
